You might find yourself at home more these days and that's ok. We're working on fun lists of things you can do while working from home if possible. So without further ado, we present the ultimate list of The Green Pet Shop's favorite dog movies ever.
101 Dalmatians
An absolute classic to start the list here. Watching Pongo and the gang take down the evil Cruella de Vil is an absolute must watch for anyone starting a dog movie marathon. You can either go with the classic live action edition, or the just as good illustrated version. Either way, no dog movie marathon is complete without this classic tale.
Homeward Bound
Another epic adventure here. This flick starring Michael J. Fox was a remake of the 1963 film "The Incredible Journey". This one is admittedly a bit of a tearjerker that will have you cuddling your pup a little harder by the end of it. One of those movies designed for kids but that works for everyone. This one will hit close to home and thus must be included on this list.
Lady and The Tramp
What can we say, Disney has a thing for making great dog movies. This is a movie surely everyone has heard of. The feel good love story with the famous spaghetti scene. Disney even just released a new live action version on Disney+ that you can check out as well. This one is a bit more loose than Homeward Bound and another essential addition to the list.
Turner and Hooch
This is one this authors personal favorites on the list. The ultimate buddy cop movie starring Tom Hanks and his slobbery best friend. This is one where the dog really saves the day. If you like action, fun and buddy movies starring dogs this very well could en up being your best option on this list. This is an older movie a lot of people haven't seen, so now is the perfect time to catch up on it!
A Dogs Purpose
This one, like so many dog movies, is another tearjerker. This one takes you through the life of a dogs spirit, as it goes from body to body trying to find their true purpose. I won't spoil what they find, but its another one that will have you hugging your best buddy extra closely. But this one is certainly a must watch for your dog movie marathon.
The Secret Life of Pets
One of the more recent movies on the list. Starring a star studded lineup with Kevin Hart, Louis C.K, and Hannibel Burress, this delightful adventure will have you laughing and on the edge of your seat. Even if you saw this when it was out in theaters, now is a great time for a rewatch. And as a bonus, they just released the second Life of Pets which you can stream as well. You don't want to miss this one!
Air Bud
This one is great because it's actually an amazing bunch of movies. Choose your favorite sport, and odds are there is an Air Bud movie about it. With so many of us missing sports these days, Air Bud is a great time to mix our favorite dogs with the sports we miss so badly. If you have the time, watch them all and tell us your favorites.
These are just a few of our personal favorite dog movies here at The Green Pet Shop. Let us know your favorites on social media and happy watching!
